Thanks for the feedback. I agree that nearly all dealers will find some reason to "devalue" the trade - regardless of the tranny. I'm leaning towards the 6spd - I can accept a smaller, more passionate market. After all, I'm not buying the car to resell - I'm buying it to drive.

My next move is to negotiate European Delivery. Seems that most salesmen/sales mgrs have the attitude that if you want to negotiate price, maybe this isn't the car for you.

I would get SMG in that case. SMG is the future, and once you resell there will be more ppl wanting to drive an SMG, and it has an auto mode (not as comfirtable as a real auto tranny). My ,02 $

[quote name='m630' date='Dec 20 2004, 10:01 AM']that being said, you should consider test driving an SMG, its fun and no clutch (to engage anyway)

I agree but with one caution...read the SMG FAQ and all the links in the thread. You can't form an accurate opinion on an SMG with a short test drive...

agreed...all should be aware that there will be a learning curve, just like the day you first got your 5-speed,

after you learn to shift by the sound, you love it, and i expect i will love SMG too....
