I would like to know the difference between E60 LCI models with factory USB/IPOD option and E60 LCI models with no USB/IPOD option.
Do all E60 LCI models come with Aux and USB ports? If so only difference between the two are mere IPOD/usb/aux cable? can someone please verify?

2008 328I Convertible, Sapphire black on beige interior. Premium package, NAV, iPod adapter.
Retired: 2002 325I, Titanium silver on black leather. Premium package. Absolutely stock and proud of it.

The LCI cars don't come with the USB/audio option but have a single AUX socket in the rear of the centre trim between the front seats. The USB/audio(which is fitted under the phone cradle in the centre armrest) is an option which you can add the BMW cable to to use you ipod on. It can be retro fitted if the car doesnt have it, although a Dension Gateway 500 is probably a better option.

Still wondering why a Ford has this as standard equipment and a BMW does not.

Seriously, many other manufacturers have recently lept ahead of BMW to offer some accouterments as standard while they are lagging in other areas of engineering. USB in a Ford probably adds less than $1 to manufacturing costs but selling cars lacking some real engineering "stuff" would cost them big bucks!
