1. Cry.
2. Call for pizza delivery. You can pretend it is the breakfast of champions.
3. Buy a trickle charger. Northern tool, Sears, dealer. Get one that charges through the cigarette lighter if you can. If not, get the one with clip on clamps. Approx $40 to $70. You get what you pay for, btw.

Look in owners manual for brake light meaning. Or others here can help. Call a BMW service writer re brake light on DIC.

All part of growing up.

Get one that charges through the cigarette lighter if you can. If not, get the one with clip on clamps.
FYI: The chargers that operate through the cigarette lighter are not compatible with the e60. You have to use the clamp type.

If you can get it to turn on go drive it around... it'll charge the battery better than just letting it idle

Just to be safe, I have to add that if you let it idle while the car is in the garage, and the garage is part of the house, you'll likely have your own emergency on your hands...

Hope you get everything sorted out and hope things work out okay with your family emergency.

Hey guys , the car is running like a champ. The brake light comes on and off will get that looked at this weekend I guess

Rudy thanks for the advice, the garage is part of the house but I always open all of the garages first before even starting the car. (A pain in the winter ).

Thank god the car is running .

try a trickle charger. if the battery is really dead, it should take a whole day to charge it at 100% with regards to the brake light turning yellow, the system needs to be reset. to do that, turn the car on, turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and then turn it back all the way to the right and that should reset the system. good luck.

Now wait, if I understand this correctly you changed the battery 2-3 weeks ago and now the battery is the dead? I would march to the dealer and see if the alternator is charging the way it's supposed to be. I know the E60s are a little temperamental, but I don't think it's normal for a battery to go dead after 2-3 weeks, unless you left the radio or something else on all night.

And if its not even turning over it could be a starter problem.
