I am a owner of a 525I 07-2007 would like to know something.
Recently, my dad hit something and created a hole on the glass cover of the headlight. (see image below. I am currently doing some research to see if I can try to fix this. I have seen people talk about replacing the glass. But this is a very tidious and difficult process.
I found someone selling his old headlight housing (without the modules). I would like to know if there is someone with experience transferring the light modules to a different headlight case. And is it doable?
I've removed and replaced headlamp lenses on other vehicles but have not done my LCI E60 yet. But I can tell it is more involved than other headlamps. There are different methods. Here are two:
Sorry for the late response, But thanks a lot for the links @hoser . I think I'll try it myself hoping not to demolish these headlights. The last thing I still don't understand is if these led lights should be transferred as well. I have seen a couple of vendors selling these lenses with and without LED markers. (See image with LED cable and without LED cable)
Can I take the old one out and stick it to the new one or doe I have to order the lens with the cable thingy.
