E60 LCI 523i with cylinder injector fault - dealer can't get parts

I picked mine back up from the dealer on Saturday morning, mine was 3 weeks old when the pump failed and it was off the road for 8 weeks.
BMW UK have paid ?550 per month for 2 months against the lease payments. So in answer to your quesiton i would say at least a grand of payment, service or parts.
If im honest, i am just happy to have my car back. driving a 2.0 D X3 for 8 weeks has got right on my tits!

My dealer mentioned that they would try to get me some kind of compensation but nothing ever came of it. My car was 3 weeks old like yours when the fuel pump failed and was off of the road for about 5 weeks.
At least I have my car back now. I have had it for a week and everything seems good.

Free service is included for 3 years here so...
Parts, well maybe...depends on the value

The bullshit continues...
Driving on a long trip today and the "Engine Fault, Reduced Power" symbol lights up. I couldn?t really feel any reduced power but I called the dealer and he told me to bring it in first thing tomorrow morning and that it was OK to keep driving the car. The engine did however sound louder than usual and also took a few extra seconds to start up.
I?ll post more info after my visit to the dealer.

WOW guys, I'm really sorry you guys are going through this. I had many problems with my car here in the US from inception. I've got the 535xi-2008 LCI. I am happy to say that BMWNA is replacing my car and I ordered the one I wanted today. It was along respectable fight so I understand how you all feel.

My dealer was Victoria Milton Keynes. But i spoke directly with Customer Services alot mostly to a lady called Charlotte.

I was always surprised that you didnt have the pump changed, from what ive been told the Pump is the cause of the injector faults. The pump is out of spec and causing damage to the injector parts.
I really hope your dealer has a pump on the shelf.

Finally got my car back today with a new high pressure fuel pump fitted
Dealer says I can expect a recall letter any day from BMW saying that my car needs to visit the dealer so that they can check that my injectors are ok!?!? If not they will be replaced with the new and improved ones...
As long as my car doesn?t brake down on me again I?ll be happy, it runs smoother than ever now!!

My car broke down again. It had all 6 new fuel injectors. I am now told it is the High Pressure Fuel pump that needs replacing.
Does anyone know how the two parts are related and if one can cause the otther to fail and if when replacing they should be replaced together?
