For those of you who live in an area where private gun ownership and carrying is permissible, and you have an inclination to keep a pistol in your car, where do you keep it?

The center console is much to small, and there is no space under the sport seats; the little space where the DVD would go if I had the SatNav is also too small. I would prefer someplace I can keep a small (locked) gun case. I would like it in easy access from the driver seat in case it is needed, but otherwise out of site and out of mind.

Any after market or DIY options?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I keep my "mini" 9mm Glock 26 holstered (Galco), where no one would look....the glove box! I am interested in more "secure" location as well, however having it accessible and well hidden can be difficult.

This thread could get interesting....Flame on!

I keep mine on my belt when I leave my business at night. Got pulled over one time by a state police with the gun on my belt, the look on his face...

My Glock .45 fits great in the Glove box, with a slim Bianci holster. The center console fits two spare magazines as well. You can also use the mesh pocket on the side of the passenger footwell for a smaller weapon, like a ppk .380. Ample space in the rear trunk, in the spare tire well. My .50 Desert Eagle or the Ruger .44 with holsters fit in that space well.
