Question

Hello everyone,
I'm only posting this new topic for fun, this is to see how the E60 will perform in the most extreme weather. If you have an experience please share it.
The picture bellow is the temperature as I was coming back from my lunch break yesterday.
I might be able to break this record either today or tomorrow. So far no problems with i-Drive or CD changer.

I'm glad I don't have experience with driving my e60 in an extreme heat like that...
But I do know that BMW is testing (like all car manufacturers) in death valley. So I guess you will not experience problems caused by the heat...

When I was in Miami it was 110 degrees F and all the cars even the old ones were running like a charm. I was really impressed by that!

Just curious, but doesn anyone have a picture of the coldest temp?

I'm pretty sure that I saw (during the tour in SC), that they do environmental testing at temps much greater and much lower on these cars.

What's the coldest anyone has ever been in. Must be Dr. D or someone in Canada...

LOL, we could probably do you a "wettest", if there was such a sensor, but I doubt either Dr D. or myself can the coldest.

BMW is doing it's cold weather testing in Finland (Lapland), so Dr.D is not experiencing anything as cold like that.

browellm, you could let us know how many hours your rain sensor and wipers worked, once they are broken down...

JDN: AC is doing fine, I use the "Max" button everyday after work. Of course along with seat ventilation. Though i have to point out that switch on timer?s rock, they reduce a lot of the heat that is contained within the car. I turn it on 15-20 minutes before I leave work. The heat outside the car isn't bad, but once you get inside a car that has been parked for hours in the Sun that's when you will feel it.
The 117 I posted was the highest i could document at the time, but the other day it was 120. I also have to mention that humidity here exceeds 100% on some days.

I am curious if someone could post a picture of the coldest temperature. I have seen Zero F on a 330 driving from Atlantic City (USA) to Center County Pennsylvania a couple of years ago.

Desert530, if you have not already put film on your windows, you might want to consider the ceramic Huper Optik as a means of controlling the heat inside the car when parked in the hot sun. HO is rated at 61% heat reduction compared to normal film at around 30-35%. Although Dallas has only gotten in the 117? range once since I've been here (1980 @ 122?) it does get pretty hot. The ceramic film has definitely made a difference.
