I received a call from my dealer this morning the new seals ARE now available in the UK. They fitted their first set yesterday. In EMEA the parts are on 5 day back order so they have ordered a set for my car and will be fitting them next week.

Announcing what/where? My Service Advisor insists they are not available yet, despite some folks here in the US saying they have had the new seals installed. I know folks in Europe and other locations are getting them. Is this going to be something sent to the dealers to inform them? I hope so! The creaking is really starting to grate on me and of course they won't do the Carboflo anymore because of the pending arrival of the new seals. Please keep us informed!

I called Sytner City on the back of this... they didn't seem to know anything about it.
When I told them I wanted it sorted, they told me they would look into it and see if my claim to this being a "known" problem was ligit. If it was, they would pass it onto the warranty dept and get back to me.
I told them about this site, and gave them the web address.

I told them if someone spends that much on a supposidly luzury saloon, you don't expect it to creak everytime you turn/accelerate/brake... that's fair isn't it?

Mine's in service right now and they're cleaning and lubing the seals, not replacing them. Second time.

Heck, I wish they would lube mine! My SA said they were told by BMWNA to not do the lube anymore, new seals were coming. That was over a month ago and I've been living w/ the creaking since before that. I'm ready for some peace and quiet when I drive!

I used to lube mine until it made no difference. I haven't had a rattle or creak in a month since they cleaned and re-lubed the seals. I guess the clean part is what I was missing. Now when the creaks return, which no doubt they will, the door seals that have been rumored like the coming of the messiah may be in stock.

I'll tell you what. On my 2001 540 with creaky doors, I lubed them myself. I picked up pool o-ring lube at the pool supply store. $3 a tube, unlike Carbaflo, and it's waterproof and didn't harm the rubber. I used to only need to lube them 2X per year.
