My Ride: 04 545i sport, stick, L7, sat, nav. Charcoal/ runflat/ cdv delete.
Suede headliner/ trunk, 3 way front speakers, four 8" subs in rear shelf, ACM, iPod dock in ash tray using gateway 500 with MP3 text and video on screen, MRTM aluminum pedals/ door pins, 10 farad cap, sound processor, line conditioner, 2 amps ( 4x100 and 2x200)
Anyone else bothered by the a-symetrical front left and front right door panels on both models?

Overall, like the look of the F10 interior, but the thing I really don't get is the change for the leather trim down the centre console. On the E60 it is on the passenger side, logically defining the driver controls and "cockpit". On the F10 BMW have put it down the driver's side, leaving the passenger side open. Strange if you ask me.

BMW has said that they really want to cash in and have high hopes on delivering awesome sales for the F10, but I doubt that F10 will outperform sales compared to the E60!
E60 has overtaken E39 sales and I don't see it being beaten - not with the current F10 anyway! I'm kind of disappointed!

I was looking at the new F10 photos and noticed that BMW has re-introduced interior redundant knobs and buttons that the iDrive interface handles. I know that some like the traditional access to various functions, but I thought that an improved iDrive system would be sufficient. I prefer the simple interior of the E60; the new design displays that bother me are the climate & entertainment controls, head-light controls, side air vents placement, and ash tray placement. The steering buttons seem to be a bit cluttered too.
Any thoughts on this as well? The first pic is an E60 M5 (couldn't quickly find a full photo of an early model E60 interior), but the early E60 models are very similar - minus the Mness.

I welcome the return of buttons that allow immediate access to system functions instead of having to navigate through a series of menus and screens. If there is a button or knob I have access to what I want immediately. With idrive (even an improved idrive) you will typically have to go through more than one step to get the function you want.
