Don't you believe that they are closing the factory this week in order to prepare for the tooling changes envolved by this modifications?

Navigation changes seem to be only software related. Hopefully a S/W update will take care of this for the cars with the Nav.

All 5 Series models specified with either Navigation Business or Professional will now have ?short cut? function keys to the left of the display screen

....wouldn't that be a hardware change?

clived,

The short cut keys are a software change as they are boxes on the i-drive screen not physical buttons. They will most likely work in a drop down box similar to the one in the CD screen where you can change the settings of the tone, balance etc by going into the Set tab.

Looks like gradually they improve interior quality but cudn't they have done it from the very beginning.A decent piece of wood or chrom insert is not a complicated software.
Please fire your? interior designer as such quality failure is not excusable for the luxury car.

I agree! I paid ?320 ($590) for maple wood trim as you know top planks and gear lever suround. Now for the same money you get 4 x wood door handles and centre console/rear console wood. The sales guy told me they hadn't got the technology to bend the wood. Soon learnt how to do do it!!!! Also did anyone else choose Titanium Grey to see it deleted weeks later to another version. Annoying or what?
