There's still gap between wood trim and air vent. That' so obnoxious and cheap.

If they change it too then I can imagine how dissappointed wud be those people
who have already changed the lower part for wood. As both parts are attached to each other they will have to buy a new two-parts piece. It seems BMW enjoys how owners modify their outdated cars piece by piece.

Looks like gradually they improve interior quality but cudn't they have done it from the very beginning.A decent piece of wood or chrom insert is not a complicated software.
Please fire your? interior designer as such quality failure is not excusable for the luxury car.

They either do it on purpose to say they "changed" stuff or they actually are improving it as time goes on from comments and suggestions and sales of cars and decided they need certain changes...

I think they do both... like they ALREADY designed the LED rear brake lights in the first place and holding it off tile "facelift" time so they can say they faclifted the car to improve sales...

E60525d, where do you get all this information about upcoming changes? What do you know about "facelift" changes to the E60 exterior for 2006 models, specifiacally tail light and brake lights for '06. My dealer has said there would be some updates to the rear tail lights and brake lights, like the 745i, for 2006. Any info. you have would be appreicated.

I'am astonished that they wud need comments and suggestions to make such changes. Even a schoolboy cud think of it beforehand. All they needed just a couple of hours to take care of it for our pleasure. It does not take much imagination or creativity. And they are highly paid specialists.

Then they probably already have designed ALL the changes when the car was initially designed and just changes pices around every year to make them a little different to please NEW buyers or encourage new buyers.

Navigation changes seem to be only software related. Hopefully a S/W update will take care of this for the cars with the Nav.

You can just let it update by you're dealer.

I also heard that Dutch is possible on Navigation pro around april this year

Can someone explain to me what "navigation professional" is? Is that just the regular Nav system that comes to the US?

I am patiently awaiting trading in my 2004 Acura TL for a 2006 530xi. Hearing about all these minor changes totally fascinates me. Love it! Helps keep me preoccupied until my dealer calls me and says I can place an order...

The US nav option is the same as nav professional in other countries. Outside the US, you can order nav business which doesn't give you map displays, only directions to destinations.

As explained in the post above allready, in the US the nav is allways nav pro. You can't get nav bus in the US.
Smaller screen, no map, just arrows.
