As I read through this, two things come to mind. First, there doesn't seem to be good representation of 123 style owners on this forum, and the car I'll be receiving this month will be fitted with this style. Are the 123s just as fragile or do they fare better?
The second thing is, should I just suck it up straight away and swap the runflats out before I ruin even the first rim? There seems to be a certain acceptance of the fact that the rigid sidewalls are contributing to this and other wheel damage people are seeing.

Spoke to my SA today and he says it sounds like a defect in the wheel and will be replaced by BMW free of charge. Have an appointment on Tuesday.
