E60 Active steering error

Default E60 Active steering error

Good day all,

Hope you are well,

I have a 2006 e60 550i and since i replaced my front shocks this error appeared "A548 Message (Active Steering, 0x1FC) faulty, receiver KOMBI, transmitter AFS komb60 Instrument cluster" i have tried clearing it, no luck, checked all my fuses, no luck, Tried resetting it by turn the steering full lock left and right no luck...

Please help me?!

You could have inadvertently knocked something loose. You won't be able to clear the code until the issue is resolved first.

If you did everything correct it will re-initialize on its own by driving the car. Nothing else will work unless you put it on a machine

The BMW dealership in Princeton New Jersey disconnected the cable for the Active Steering. It was amazingly difficult to locate and fix. Deep down past the alternator.
Doubt this is the issue, but if you have a loose cable, maybe.
