How can i find out if my 530d has active steering.

I need to get my wheels aligned and have been told that this needs to be done only at the BMW workshop if the car has active steering. Is this true ?

Can the wheel alignment be done elsewhere at any tyre and wheel service shop if the car doesnt have active steering.

Also, what are the recommended static camber and toe values for the car ?

Thats not true buddy - any 1/2 decent wheel alignment place should be able to do this for you.

The quickest and easiest way to check in my opinion if you have active steering is at standstill - check how many revolutions you can trun to full lock? Its a lot less than a standard car without active steering.

Cheers for that.

Any idea about the recommended settings for toe camber ?

How bout these values: Front : Camber : -2.5deg, Toe-in : 1.0deg
Rear : Camber - -0.5deg, Toe-in : 0.0deg

Is it easy to alter the camber and toes or do they need shims ?
