e60 550i or e39 M5 ? Opinions/Comments/Advice

My Ride: 2006 BMW 550i "Ben Hogan's 5 Iron"
SilverGrey/Black Sport, L7, NAV, CW, AS, Split FR
2003 Audi A4 3.0 CVT "Part of the Moniker"
Silver/Ebony, Prem, CW, Star 17s
I'd go for the 550. The e39 M looks good but the interior is prehistoric. Haven't driven the M but I'm sure it has an edgy and thrilling ride. That said, the 550 is no slouch in the WOW department and, IMHO, the interior and exterior stlying is uniquely well done.

Sure E39 M5 has wayyy better throttle response than E60 550i. It it has less than 30K miles, I'd go for it. Car starts getting old after 30K miles.

I had the opportunity to choose b/t a CPO 2003 e39 M5 and a new 545i. The M5 does have more power, but I just like having the newest toys and with all the bells and whistles. Review your requirements for the car. I needed a larger sedan with some get up and go that didn't shake the fillings out of my teeth everytime I hit a bump...got enough of that with ZHP. You cannot go wrong either way. Good luck.
