E60 545i vs. E55 AMG

heh... yea, I saw that post.... if you believe that you'll be really dissappointed.... it's all about physics.... his claims just don't line up.....

Mark this post, that when the M5 comes over here to the US and real tests are done, that it will not humiliate the E55...... or half the other cars it's claming to kill....

let's see.... 3800+? pound M5 with 500HP and 400 Torque, vs 3300 pound Viper with 500HP and 500HP torque..... of course the M5 wins....

Depends how you define humiliate, but I'm not so sure. Not a lot between them in terms of raw stats but the M is likely to have the upper hand on handling. I did see one test (Automobile mag I think) that did a mini head to head and gave the clear nod to the M5 over the E55 for this reason. They said that the "defining moment" for the M5 was not the engine or power as they had predicted but the cornering - and that's where it may indeed "humiliate" the E55. I'd still have either of them in a heartbeat!

I agree.... no question the M will be more responsive and handle better.... the 545i handles better than the E55..... I would take either one as well...
