The over or undercharging of batteries is the reason many say that you have to have the new battery "registered" so that the car regulates the charging. Not sure of this is true but it seems that many who have not done this have the same issue.

I replaced my OEM battery in Sept. After 6 months of nothing the same messages began to appear two weeks ago. I had to have my battery registered to stop the messages.
