Try to put the key in the ignition for about 5 mins with it in the on position. Turn it off then try to start it.

I thought it would but won't start.
That's the thing the dash should light up you just shouldn't be able to start the car. This is why I say a module. Are you sure your battery is good? How old is it?

Good day,
I'd switch the battery with my E46, and it is still the same. It means the battery is definitely fine.

Hi guys,

Finally FIXED, apparently, the CAS module was dead. Had to replace a set CAS/DME/Keys/ignition barrel and lock set, door and trunk.

Painful financially but satisfactory in the end, have it running.

Thanks so much for all your support, which lead me away from taking wrong steps.

Kindest regards😃

Glad to hear you got it fixed. Why did you have to replace everything instead of just the CAS with a recode and pair

😭 didn't know that, the technician advise that CAS cannot be code l, he probably wanted to sell me the set! Lol
how do you recode the CAS? Using which software, I recent got my INPA /ISTA D and P... With NCSexpert and Progman.. not yet installed and tested.

You can recode the CAS using NCS, winkpf and toolset. Once it's coded you need someone who can add the keys. It's about a 90 min job to code a new CAS and software update but it definitely can be done.
