Default E60 530d thermostat

Hello! I have been stalking this forum for the past two weeks looking at peoples' posts about changing the thermostat and i did do just that. The thing is, before i changed both the main and EGR thermostat, my temps were at 50-60c and after the change they are still at 60-70 max, 83 when revving at 2.5k rpm stationary, cools down when i start driving. Looks like the main thermostat i changed seems to be defective (Mahle ti 234 88) and i saw a post on here showing the main thermostat picture new vs old. The old one was on the left side and the new one was on the right side. I need this picture to prove to the shop i bought the thermostat from that it is indeed defective and i can't seem to find it, not in my history, not by looking up the pictures. i am so lost right now and perhaps someone might have the picture, that would be greatly appreciated!

Why do you think the new thermostat is defective?

You don't really need a photo. If it's stuck open, the spring will be compressed.

This is the old stat i took out. Is this one stuck open? Spring is super hard to press and the metal flexes when trying to do so.

Because the temperature should be 88-91c and it's stuck at 70 and won't go any higher. I checked with a digital thermometer with the laser pointer - EGR thermostat is at a good 70 degrees celsius, while main stat sits at 45 degrees celsius. Mind you, this is after 60km of driving both city and highway.

So, it's just an issue of winter?

Did you read your DTC codes? If it's not throwing any temperature codes, I wouldn't worry about it.

Yes, no codes about temperature. The only thing i'm worried about is fuel consumption is a bit high
