I have now had my 530D sport for a few weeks now, 1700mls on clock. But I find on pulling away acceleration that there seems to be a very slight vibration through the steering/and maybe the under carriage area, and you can feel the road thru the steering more than my old 530i. Is it just me, is it the deisel engine, active steering?? it just doesnt seem as smoothly refined as the old chap, any views.

I like the idea of an undercarriage!

Diesel. Possibly.

Runflat tyres. Maybe.

Getting used to a new ride and listening carefully. Definitely.

I can't say I've noticed anything similar with my 530d - coming from a 330Ci I'm sure I would have picked up on any vibration that was due to the diesel engine. Perhaps as aybeesea says it's a combination of the sports suspension and runflats. I've run Sports models in the past and can confirm that in all of them I have definitely felt every lump and bump in the road!

530d M sport here and I'm really picky. Can't say I've felt any undue vibration through the wheel or undercarriage pulling away. Clunky 1st to 2nd gear though and a firm ride. Hope the issues don't spoil your enjoyment of your new car.

Cheers

What wheel and tyre combination have you got? 19" with continental tyres? Does the vibration go after a few miles and is it speed dependant? Have had similar issues with an M-sport but all is well now

Hi, 18" wheels, 245 40 18 all round (i think) the prob is really when pulling away at low speed. It is not apparent once past 20mph

I'd get it checked out - my car definitely doesn't have any vibration through the steering wheel at low speeds and I've got the same engine and wheel combination as you.
