Just getting a service light showing saying particle filter needs to be replaced, not nothing else on the car needs done and wasnt intending on servicing just yet so can you answer these questions for me.

1. How much in uk will BMW charge to replace particle filter
2. Will it cause issues if i dont get replaced
3.If i replace will it increace MPG or performance
If i dont replace will it reduce increace MPG or performance

Not to sure what to do at this point, any help would be good!

You sure it's particle filter and not micro filter? How many miles have you done?
Particle filter is part of the exhaust and will be very expensive. Micro filter is just a cabin filter (x2) and will be very cheap. Hope for your sake it's the latter! I seem to remember saying the particle filter is north of ?1,000. I think I paid about ?60 for my BMW dealer to supply and fit the micro filters.

It is the Micro filter, that will teach me to take more notice, what does the midcro filter do, what is the cost, is there any improvment in replacing this and what if i dont?

Also any idea how to reset the service indictor

Micro filter is the pollen filter for the interior of the car. Lift the bonnet (hood) and there is one under each of the black covers at the rear of the engine bay under the windscreen (windshield). Simple to fit and cheap'ish to buy. You need to get the service indicator reset by a garage or specialist though....

Take a picture of your iDrive screen (serrvice menu), then we can see what filter you're talking about.

The micro filters needs to be changed every ~60.000 km's and the particle filter every 160.000 km's (around ?1300 in Germany!).
