Particle filter for diesels

Hi,
My german is not too good but it seems like BMW will release a particle filter for the larger diesels for 2004. The cars should after this meet the Euro IV emission standards. There is thus now one less reason for not choosing a diesel! Does anyone else have more information about the technique behind the filter?
