Unhappy E60 2005 Climate Control not receiving power

Hi all,

I had a faulty blower motor and resistor that I changed myself on my car. When the blower was faulty, I would receive no air (except sometimes the hot air from the engine) but the climate control lights and dials were illuminated and therefore receiving power. When I changed the old blower motor for a new one, my climate control no longer receives power. I've reinstalled several times to make sure I didn't miss a cable and I really don't see where I could've messed up. Anyone have any idea why it would stop receiving power? A side note... my CCC has most likely failed so I don't have access to iDrive. Unsure if that affects anything. The CCC unit still receives power as I can hear it spin. Any help to point me in the right direction would be appreciated!

A fuse check should be number one on your list.

Check the 3 multi pin connectors on the rear of the IHKA panel to ensure they are properly seated, would be my guess.

refer to page 8.

I'll check that out, thanks! I been pretty busy the past couple weeks but I finally have the time to work on it. Unfortunately, my battery died in the time the car sat in my driveway so I'm waiting on a new battery. Something I noticed while I was removing the battery was that there was some (what looked like) water pooled under the battery. Can't be good. It rained pretty hard for a few weeks, you guys think it was a leak from the trunk? Or could it be electrolyte from the battery?

Sounds like you may have plugged sunroof drains. Check the bottom of the spare tires well for water. You have electronics down there that may be taking a bath.

Thanks I'll check that area as well. I found my MPM module damaged a while ago and haven't used iDrive since. Perhaps this could be related...

A fried MPM may be the root cause...

Do you know if the MPM needs to be programmed after installing a new one?

Nope, plug and play, no programming required.

OK. So I checked some fuses today to see if I could find any problems and I found only one blown: Fuse #30 (air conditioning automatic). I also noticed I'm missing a couple fuses: #26 (air conditioning basic) and #35 (navigation). So hopefully that will fix my power delivery issue. I also checked the MPM again and indeed, it has a melted pin. I couldn't really identify and water damage in the trunk, but maybe one of you kind folk will see something I can't. I attached some pictures of the damage below. So my next steps will be to clear the sunroof drains, get a new MPM and fuse and hope she works!

looks like it has a little bend in the middle of it, could be a sign of damage

melted pin #3 from the left

don't see any water here
