My Ride: E60
I'm thinking that it's probably because if the owner can afford to buy an E60, he'll definitely afford a driver. Most businessmen don't drive there -- traffic's too chaotic to bother so having extra room in the back makes sense.... I go there often but no way would I want to drive in Beijing at all.
Besides, all the cars with VJ plates have all the fun... dammit!

funny, Chinese people are usually shorter than Germans (and Dutch) but apparently a lot more practical as they lengthen their cars and we do not.
Any other differences in the car except for length? And where are they assembled? (in other words: can I get one here in Europe?)

u r right, but the price has been droping. and the reason the price is relatively higher compare to US is it because we dont have a "build your own BMW" option, that means the car produced here are almost the same with most of the accessories. (like PDC, leather seat, etc), they r all stock. with that huge list of options and accessories, we pay a lot of money on the things we dont really need. ~~~ only thing u can choose from is the paint and interior colour. hope one day customer in china can build their own BMW.
and for the 3er, only E90 r produced, not E92 E93.
by the way, just checked BMWUSA.com, whaaooo, really a good deal, even compare to Germany and UK, much cheaper. u guys are very lucky.

My sister-in-law who lives in Beijing just bought a 320i, I think. She paid I believe close to at least $50K US. WOW
We are lucky with our prices. : )
