E39 M5 vs E60 550 performace is very close if not the same

what do you guys think?
Car Weight Engine HP TQ
550 3803 4.8L 360@6300 360@3400
M5 4024 4.9L 394@6600 368@3800
the advantages of the 550 is early torque and lighter weight..so it maybe be a very close race up to 100 and maybe who knows what will happen then..ummm

I'l take a E60 550 over a E39 M5.

BUT its all about the E60 M5...

I think the race might be pretty close. We'll see if we ever get any 550i test stats.

To be honest I suspect it would probably be pretty close. Logic favors the E39 M5 but power to weight is near identical as is torque.

You're clearly (or conveniently) forgetting that the 545 has been timed at not that much over 5, the 550 is going to be quicker still. Haven't seen any serious 550 tests yet, but either way it will be close.
