Have we confirmed that the pre 16.2 cars work the same way as the 16.2 cars or is there a new bug/feature? That's where I'm confused I guess...

How does it work for you, since you are not on 16.2?

It's all there - I'm confused by the WHOLE car. When they program it, all modules get upgraded if therere are newer versions on that SW release. I'm not sure about partial ugrades! Who would want that?

I'm not sure. No customer would want Partial upgrades but Dealers might cause it might save them time by upgrading only the part that you have complained about. I only read somewhere here before by someone saying make sure you get a complete whole car upgrade. I'm not sure... I was hoping someone would chime in.

[quote name='realtyman' date='Apr 20 2005, 11:54 AM'][quote name='urbo73' date='Apr 20 2005, 09:48 AM']I had my car updated to the latest E60 software from CIP 16.2 (E060-05-03-520) the other day and I think the NAV upgrades are really great - the shortcuts, the way it now works, etc. It all makes it easier now to operate.

And finally they fixed the bug where the radio on/off wasn't rememberd when starting the car as we all know. That was just a huge pet peeve of mine.

Anyway, one thing I've noticed is that now, if I have the climate control turned to OFF, when I re-start the car it's back on auto!? Is this a new bug? Or was it always this way and I just don't remember?

Anyone?

Hi Urbo73,
Which dealer in the Boston area has 16.2?
I just checked with mine (BMW Peabody) and they say that they are on 15.1.
Thanks in advance!

Herb Chambers BMW on Commonwealth Ave. They always get the latest first it seems and the mechanics know their stuff. Even on my invoice they print the E060-05-03-520 as the SW from CIP 16.2 - they know the deal.

Really,

Did you call them up and then went in for just software update or else ? I got mine 530i from Herb Chamber too.

I think it's always been this way. I'm running v15.2 and if I've turned off the climate control it defaults back to auto when I restart the car.

I'm not sure what CIP version I have right now, but I am pretty sure that whatever condition my climate control is set to when I turn the ignition off, is where it returns to when I get back in......

Yes, that is correct. My 2005 530i (don't know the sw version) will remember (save) the climate control setting before I turn off the car. It will not go back to Auto as default. Maybe, I should wait for BMW to come up with a fix for this bug ??
