More likely your air filter is blocked. Try replacing this first

 

Could it be that your diesel particulate filter (DPF) is going through a self-cleaning cycle. The soot particles caught by the filter are periodically burned at high temperature - this takes several minutes, produces smoke, causes engine to run roughly and lose power. It also stinks!! Check your handbook for more details.

The 530d is known to have the Turbo blown - my old 530d had its turbo gone when it had only 35k on it and under 18months old! Luckily all this was replaced along with a complete exhaust under manufacturers warranty.

 

lights cum up on th dash wen a turbo is gone am i right? well this didn happen i hav it at a bmw specialist il let yous now wat the problem was
