I was thinking BMW might be able to activate DVD playback since the DVD is regionally encoded (forgot the exact wording on the build sheet). If it was intended only for DVD data (NAV), they wouldn't need to set the region, right?
I'm just about to pull the trigger on a video input box (G-net, Nav2go,...) but saw this post, so I might hold for a while until there's a definitive answer.
