dvd player plays cds

i dont know if you guys know but i just stuck a bought and a burnt cd in the dvd drive and it played it with cd text too. i wonder if this will lead to a way to play dvds in this drive.

BMW is working on that. Nobody knows when, but hopefully soon. But it will not be free, I guess. I have a portable DVD player, wasn't willing to wait for BMW any longer...
