This post comes with 2 questions in one...
1.
Any idea if BMW will ever add DVD Movie playback to the I-Drive?
I feel sooooo strongly about this so that I would even consider moving to a Merc for that... (just dont want to lose the driving appeal though ) Hopes are not too high as they havent even managed to get MP3 working on NAV Pro, so how the hell will they manage DVD Playback?! Well on the other hand, I would only play movies on the I Drive screen when I am not using NAV (uses same drive slot), so it MAY be possible... can anyone find out if there is anything in the pipeline?
2.
Another thing is ... would it be possible to have the I-Drive programmed so that it would close all windows and sunroof automatically if I just lock the car (press lock once instead of holding it down)? I used to have this function a while back on a car and since missed it sooo much. There should be no security issue as all windows have antitrap function anyway...

My Ride: 2006 530xi. Deep green with beige interior. 6 speed manual. Premium package.
I asked the dealer about DVD playing since i have a bunch of kids (myself included). He said it was illegal in the states. Not sure if this is true.

You are giving a Bimmer just because they don't have a DVD player on board you must be out of your mind (no offense though)

Playing DVD Movies while car is still is fully legal here...
--- you see I love my Beemer, but I love my Gadgets too... and I Drive is definately a Gadget which has not reached its potential!
As long as you guys get paid Millions in claims in the US, there is no need to complain if u dont get the cool stuff until its fool proof!

Very true, we have done this to ourselves. One thing though, my friend has a 2003 325 convertible and with his key he can close all windows, when holding down the lock button, I tried it yesterday and it works?
