Just burn it on DVD-R with slowest speed.. ~2x or 4x. If it doesnt work the try different media brand. i use verbatim/ 4x no probs...

I have tryed following...

- BMW.DVD.2006-2.Road.Map.Europe.Professional.rar
- BMW.DVD.2006-2.USA.And.CANADA.Professional.rar

no problems at all.. Car will inform u that u have newer Nav DVD than before and will do some kind of "update" 5min. then everything is ok. my car is running CIP 21:00, europe navigation professional hardware built 8/05

hope u will get it working

The copy needs to look exactly the same way as the original. put the original into your computer and open it. you should see a number of file folders. Instead of copying the DVD, copy those files to your hard drive. then use drag to disc to exactly emulate the way the files sit on the original. that should work for you.

Hmmm...but guys aren't those nav dvds specified for car models eg E60 or E90 or that doesn't matter, what matters is the business/proffesional nav system.

PS: can someone indicate what are the major differences between 2006-2 dvd and 2005-2 nav dvd (proffesional). What can be new added besides probably an updated database with the roads, poi and so on...

Btw, how many versions of the Navigation is there for the E6x?

Basic, Business , High ?

Which one is the 3d one? and What is the professional one equaled to? high?

I know for a fact that DVD-R +R and RW works in my DVD drive when burning mp3/wma files. But as i mentioned before, im yet to be able to get the nav-dvd to go..

E60 gets two systems - Business (no maps just arrows) or Professional (maps). E90 uses a completely different provider and the maps are not compatible with any of the E60 systems.

In the Business System you have to pay extra for the map and maybe that's where the compatibility issues come from. In the Professional systems the map is included in the price. At least that's the European policy.

You sure about that?
I don't think so. I just bought the new NAV disk for US of A and swapped out the older one.

New one was a big disappointment as was the old one. The Addison tunnel was finished in 1999 and was not in the 2004 software that came with the car. The 2006 update is also woefully behind. Wife's new Odyssey is right up to snuff with recently finished construction. Navteq is very disappointing to this old boy. <_<

hmm.. i thought that i-drive systems uses same discs (E90/91/92, E60/61, E63/64, E65/66, E85 and X3). Business(only arrows), Professional(Map and arrows) is for idrive and Navigation High is for older E39 X5 nav systems (for ex. Mark IV).

It depends what kind of equipment car has(with i-drive) ? Professional or Business nav system (difference is wider i-drive display in Professional system, easy to note..)

I didn't think so either...

There are certain things I prefer about our Odyssey's nav but sometimes there are things I prefer about the E60 (unfortunately, I can't remember exactly what they are right now.)

I'm pretty sure NavTeQ does the map database for both systems (I see some of the same errors show up on both cars) so I'm surprised that you're finding such differences between them.
