Hi. One of my friends smashed his knee into the storage compartment which had my Navi cd in and managed to break the dvd in 2.... Ive found the 2006-2 europe one on the net, but ive yet been able to get it to work. Ive burned DVD+R +RW but it wont accept any of em (says cant read media).. I know these dvd's work in the player since it can read mp3/wma's from em easily..
Anyone got any tips? Im using nero 6.x

I burned one on Memorex 16x both Dvd-R and +R both worked. But the thing is to burn the CD at the slowest possible burning speed. Did you check the description of the downloaded file if its a busines one or a High version one???

I made a backup on my Europe 2006-2 on DVD-R. No problem to run with that!

Im frustrated to say it the least....
Where can one buy the newest release? Whats the cost for Scandic/European version?

It's not a burn issue. If you want to use a newer navigation map than what was available at time of production the dealer needs to reprogram the nav. Crazy but true...

I live in a country which isn't covered by the BMW Navigation map but wanted to see if the system works on my car "FOR TESTing PURPOSES". Had a 2006-1 map burnt - car couldn't read it. Then burnt a 2005-1 map the same way. No problem - everything works. Sorry BMW but I'm not paying 1000 EUR just to be able to see the latitude and longitude of my position and which way is north (which is all that you get in countries not covered by the European maps). What pisses me off is that my friend in a 3 year older E90 has a navi system which covers Poland. Go figure....
