What does that auto vent thing do? I don't know the name but you set it and it has 2 different times for it to work and then it lights up that little red light under the center... Do you use it in the winter to defrost? I have ment to look it up in the book but I always forget...

It just ventilates the car for half an hour while it is off. No AC no heat, just air circulation. It helps on very hot and sunny days.

Thank you, so I should set it up to go off before I get out of work so my car is nice and air circulated..

My benz has the same thing, in the winter, it will re-circulate the hot air from the engine for a half hour and same thing in the summer. In my benz, you hit the button before you shut the car off and then it will be on after removal of the key.

Rest function is different to the independent ventilation.....rest is for when you switch off, indepenent vent is useful for the half-hour before you start off.

Rest button is for Residual Heat Mode.

The car uses the engine heat to keep the car warm while parked.

Automatic Ventilation vents the car while parked.

Totally different functions.
