I reckon it is quite usual to drive with DTC off with 3-series but 5-ers? How many of you drive with DTC off and your experience? All BMW cars are perfectly balanced so this switch means something like serious / fun to me.

I don't have the DTC anymore, but before the Quaife I drove in DTC mode 99 times on 100 .
Now DSC or DTC is the same, because the car has only the ESP, that is what I want to protect me .

If your looking for a bit of fun turn DTC and DSC off. I made the mistake of going for a very spirited drive in my previous 330i with DTC on and the rear brakes disintegrated due to the traction control applying the brakes everytime the back end tried to step out of line or the rear wheels broke traction. Quite an expensive bit of fun

Let me know the next time you plan on and spirited driving. That way I can be sure I'm not in the United Kingdom when it happens.

There are three position in 1, 3, 5 and 6 series:
Now, to which one of these are you refering to?
- DTC on, DSC on (normal)
- DTC on, DSC restricted (pressing shortly DTC/DSC button)
- DTC off, DSC off (pressing more than three secs DTC/DSC button)
Now, to which one of these are you refering to?
Number 2 for spirited driving. Alittle drift action and throttle stays on more when accelerating and cornering. Number 3 on rare cases when the screw in my head come loose.
