By dsc off i mean: powerslides or drifts or straight wheelspin or burnout or...all of them .
Just curious of what is the outcome of this poll. I hope no one votes for no 7 and well as few as possible for no 6.

Cheers.

I have actually never turned off my DSC yet. Maybe because I got my car last autumn but now when it's almost summer I will press that magic button

i switch it off almost daily...i turn it off just for a few seconds...just to get some wheel spin for fun..but on a couple of days a week..i let the tail go out....even with a 525 engine....i still get a few suprises...cant even imagine what a 550 could do....not to mention an m5...

I haven't turn that off yet. Although I already had the DSC mailfunction already.

Do you really feel major difference between on and off??

I opted for option 1, however in the 535d it was probably option 6 but as i'm learning to drive again in the M5, i like to have little plays & that's best done with the M-Button pressed & DSC off.

Certainly not recommended for everyday use in which case option 2 or 3 & on a longer run i'd probably have it firmly switched on but hit the M-Button when i fancy a play.

I have tried switching the DSC off but there still seems to be an element of traction control, I assumed this was built in to stop people having too much fun with the torque from the 535d.

Any clues to switching it off would be appreciated!!

Both DSC and DTC always off unless there are slick conditions or I am on a high-speed road.

Push and hold the DTC button until the triangles show up on the instrument panel. Then, both DSC and DTC are off. I am assuming that you have a DTC button as I do.

There is a major difference. DSC is great for keeping you out of trouble. DTC is a waste IMO. My preference would be to keep DSC on almost always and keep DTC off almost always. I don't want DTC managing my engine or my acceleration. I wish BMWs worked the same way as my Z06--one can turn DTC completely off, while leaving DSC completely on--in effect--which yields a vastly more satisfying driving/safety experience.

Isnt this what happened when the car starts up???

i thought DTC only turned on when you pressed the button....If you held the button it turns of DSC..
