this morning. Took him out on a short drive and it slammed almost every time as I came to a stop. He's working with BMW now to see what the next steps are. They gave me a 328 with 250 miles/day allowance that I'm enjoying. The taller tire on the 17s versus my 19s is noticeable but not a day and night difference like I expected.

Well, the foreman said they have an hour to go on the new software program and that he'll be test driving the car shortly thereafter. He said it looks good and the car should be ready to go by 6pm today!!!!

That's pretty fast! That's a good dealer there.

Will do. The guy experienced the issue with me in the car several times so I'm confident he knows what to look for. I asked him to keep the car if the software didn't fix the issue because if I picked it up and drove it down the street and experienced the same problem, I'd drive right back and drop it off. He agreed and asked for my permission to drive it for a 10-15 minutes to make sure it wasn't just a "patch" fix. I gave him the ok. The foreman had the appearance and demeanor of a stand-up guy so I don't think he's a bullshitter.

Good luck with the software fix to the transmission slam, mine ended up needing a transmission replacement before it was fixed!

I had mine in last month for the same problem.. they gave me the run around and did nothing to fix the slam after 6 days in (did some other minor things like sunroof seal)! So I brought it back a couple days later with some ammo from the forum. "ohhhh, yea thats a common problem.." He told me they were going to update the software (six hours to do), but a week later it was doing it again. Does the software update visibly change any of the I-drive menu for a 2005? Nothing looked different on mine, no daytime running light options or navi options..
I'm stuck doing the 25 sec reset again.. Any insight from someone who got their slam cured??
