My Ride: 530i 2007, Adaptive Headlights (Xenon), Auto AC Extended, Logic7, Bluetooth, PDC
Got this (orange) message just after the first 5k k"m:
Driving Stablity -
Drive control system failure. Reduced roadholding stability when cornering. Drive moderately! Have the problem checked by BMW..
Is it a sensor problem or maybe a more serious one in the DSC?

Mine was in for 1st oblig. service...and then I got this too, strange, but no stress if it comes again it goes to the dealer, the only thing is I hate the replacement cars

My Ride: 2006 550i Sport Package, Cold Weather Package, Premium Sound Package, Comfort Access, Xenon Headlights, Adaptive Headlight Control, Navigation System, Steptronic Transmission. Silver Gray Metallic with Gray Leather. Added Red rear reflectors. Swapped stock Style 124 wheels and Bridgestone run-flat tires for BMW Style 125 5-Double Spoke wheels, 8" x 19" front, 9.5" x 19" rear with Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires, 245/40YR-19 front and 275/30YR-19 rear.
Looks like the SZL Module failure - part of steering angle sensor system. This part is in short supply, because of so many E60s with this problem. I had a similar, not identical, warning message and it required replacement of my SZL Module. Also requires reprogramming car's computer system, which can take 1 - 2 days. depending upon problems with computer reprogramming in one or more modules. They had one module on my car give a problem. They did a car battery reset (like a Microsoft Windows re-boot), and then completed the computer reprogramming successfully. I now have CIP (ProgMan) Ver. 22.0.
