$1017.00 for door seals? That's crazy - what are they going to do for that? Just replace the rubber parts? With what - gold?

I've realized, that the sound isn't comming from the door seal, but the window seal, which is on the top of each window. The seal has two different materials on each side - rubber and a felt-like material.
I have this exact same problem, and it's driving me crazy. Where exactly is the window seal? Do you mean the top of the door (what you'd see when looking at the top of the door while standing next to it), or do you mean where the window slides into the top of the door frame?

I think he means where the window slides into the top. I have the same problem. Lowering a window just a bit takes a noise away.

Apparently they have to replace the four door seals plus labor. Seems like BS to me. That is alot of money.

Cool

... where the window slides into the top of the door frame ...

It is very easy to remove the seal even without any tools. Just remove it (the topmost part), dry it and put Nivea everywhere you can :-) LOL... Do it only on one door (as a test) and you'll see the improovement. But I don't know any permanent solution.

I can't tell exactly where you're talking about - I don't see any seals or felt that could be removed without tools or damage. In the picture below, which area are you talking about - 1, 2, or 3?

My '04 530 had door seals replaced at least twice. I use a wet towel after each car wash and rub each door seal. Seems to work so far.. My '08 550 has 14K miles and not one creak! Good luck!

It's the "1" - do not use tools. It can be removed with one hand.

I really don't see how - it's glued in there pretty well. Maybe the '04 is different than the '08....

Well, after reading this, it got me wanting to find out why mine is making so much noise. After investigating the issue, I found the problem as well. I bought some Wurth Rubber Care Gel Stick and put it on all the rubber seals. It has no silicone and it makes the rubber look and feel brand new! Good stuff! But... That only fixed some of the problem. It is much better now (one treatment about a month ago and no problems since). The remaining squeaking is coming from the felt strip that ajo pointed out. It seems to me that, at least on my car, where the felt has worn down and left little bald spots, it is rubbing on the glass and making that noise that we are all too familiar with. I have scratched my head over this one for a while and cannot come up with any quick fix that would last. The part is worn and that is what is causing the noise. My driver's door is the worst and has the most wear. One or two of my other doors have no wear and make no noise. I'm sure that there are some parts sites where one could buy that piece cheaply and install it yourself, however I did not try to remove the part with my hand as ajo suggested. If it really is that easy to remove, could someone give a little more detailed instruction on how it's done? I will volunteer to be the guinea pig on this and buy one part to try this out and will report on the results. I just can't see spending that kind of money to have every seal replaced when it is caused by only one or two little felt strips!!!
