Door Flocking Noise
#1
I've been visiting the forum for the past 4months since I got my 2006 530 in Dec. I noticed noise coming from the door area and did extensive searching on here for a solution...And I must say after using the Goo Gone on the flocking material NO NOISE!
I am enjoying my car so much more...I know it sounds silly but its funny how such a small thing can be a pest!
Very informative site!!!!!!!!

Yep, those flocking noises can be troublesome alright. Especially the flocking rattles. They drive me flocking crazy...

my car has some rattles coming from the back most likely from the rear shelf and some more noises i can't recognize.. may be that's "flocking"

Is flocking the noise that you hear when you either come to a stop, or begin to move off? (i.e. the change of direction or motion)? If so, I am having the same noises in my 2008 E60. Its really annoying, and I can even hear it over music at low volume. Does anyone have any good solutions for this? If my car is a CPO, can the dealer help?

To me the sound was a rattle that appeared to come from the back windows when accelerating and braking, or to be more accurate the point at which the momentum shifted from braking to accelerating, or vica versa, almost like there was something loose in the door frame. It was seriously annoying, especially with the music off and windows closed. I read a few other threads on this and bought some 'goof off' spray at Home Depot (the regular domestic strength version). I wiped down the felt-like material on top of the door frames (front and back), and the corresponding part of the frame on the car with a cloth. The noise was gone, and now the car is silent! Took just 20 minutes!
