^that's the new 2+2 Lotus (though I think the rear seat is actually an option). It's been on the latest episodes of Top Gear and Fifth Gear - Youtube it
thanks for all the ideas.
I was at my local BMW today picking up my 550i from service. My daughter and I wandering through the showroom. I found a lot of cars that I wasnt going to afford, but one surprised me. The 135i convertible had more room in the backseat that I expected. My 11 yo daughter liked the room in the back, but complained over the lack of stuff...e.g. most other cars had center consoles and arm rests and air vents for the rear passengers. This one may have been a stripped model, but dunno at this point. I would expect a 135i convertible to be very nimble and quite fast. It would need the Sport pkg or the 16" wheels make it look like a Mini or worse.
They had 3 Exec Demos of 3-series convertibles but were asking almost MSRP. dreaming. Nice tho.
I saw the 6'er and thought...hmmm...wonder what a CPO would cost. I will be checking into that. maybe even the coupe vs. vert.
C63 would have to tumble in resale for me to afford one by this fall.
I want to stay under $600/month..lease or buy. So that maxes my purchase option to $35k. Lease of course it all depends on the deal. My 528i lease is $600/month total and it was a $52k msrp car.

GT-R
The GTR is great, but the OP did say his budget was $35K - which clearly rules out the GTR, unless you mean an R32 - you can find them on eBay for about that
