Does your BMW make you a better or worse driver?
For me it's been a mixed result. I owned a Porsche 911 cab for 6 years prior to my 545 and in 6 years never a ticket. If you drove the 911 hard you really knew it, load, harsh, etc. But in the 2 years of ownership of the 545 , 3, yes 3 tickets. I attribute this to the fact that the 545 is so smooth, so quick, and handles so well that you can easily find yourself traveling at a high rate, knifing through corners with out any effort at all. Cruising the freeway at 90mph.

Interesting poll. I voted more agressively.
I drove my Corvette like I owned the road too. It's just that everybody seems like they're going so slow, therefore I find myself wanting to always pass. You can go 50-60mph and it feel like 30mph in a regular car.
Although I have not regretted getting a 545, a part of me wishes I had gotten the 525 because I was afraid of driving too agressively.

I drive much less carefully in my mother's Polo.. but then again, I never really drive fast with it - it's simply uncomfortable, and I only drive it as an umbrella in town. Whereas with the 5er, I drive more carefully, but once it's safe, I speed up - often above the speed limit. On highways or the Autoroute/strada/bahn I'm always extremely caucious and try to drive as predictable as possible.
Not stressing other driver's is sometimes difficult - especially when I'm on a decent rural road and the car in front isn't driving as fast as the speed limit allows. Some might find the view of a BMW in the rear-view mirror, constantly on the search for a possibility to overtake, slightly stressing. But once I'm on a good road, I always try to drive efficiently and consistently.

My current car is the fastest car I've ever owned and sometimes I find, during a country lane brain out ride, that I'm travelling much faster than I realise and end up having to take evasive action going into bends etc. The 535d isn't the fastest car in the world but it does tend to build speed in a weirdly silent manor making the driver feel slightly detached from the proceedings. It could do with a petrol sound at higher revs making the driver more aware.
Great fun though regardless - just hope I don't stuff it up.
I know it sounds funny, but if it was a Porsche 911 passing over me, it would of been fine. I would go about my business knowing not to try and catch it up. The whole point is, it's a Camry. My first thought was how dare a Camry pass me? I had to prove that he picked the wrong car to pass. Don't you all in one time or another had this exact same feeling?
Yep, totally understand where you are coming. Honda Accord did it to me last night. At 38 years of age I should know better..... but administered some swift and brutal justice anyway. Sometimes the reverse happens though. I occasionally find myself driving deliberately sensibly when I see others engaged some lunatic driving so maybe it evens out over time. Agree with the main point though, always pay respect to the 911's and Vettes out there but it *is* different when some pillock in a camry or an accord wants to try it on
I definitely drive more aggressively in this car, so sometimes I wish I had a '30 instead of '45. Most of the time I am fairly sedate and polite and just going a bit fast or taking advantage of an opportunity to accelerate quickly or take some turns faster. However, if I get hung up behind some idiot (don't get me started on slow moving, huge SUV's, cellphone users, etc..) or I am getting tailgated, I'll take off at the first opportunity. I think the resulting adrenaline rush and car's capabilites get me pretty wound up and once I cross the line, it is difficult to return to a normal driving mode. It's a constant battle to behave after that.
