This is not the first time I noticed that the search feature does not work on this site, what gives? Anyone know what the backend is that this site runs on ie. MySQL, Oracle, SQL???
I just need to understand what I'm getting into by purchasing the JB4 upgrade as the link that Terry provided doesnt tell me exactly what it is that I have to do (swap) when I receive the "chip" or whatever it is that he will send for me to put into my old unit. Has anyone done the upgrade, and if so, what do you have to do? Please be specific and not use things like: "all you have to do is change the CAN, by moving the xyz to abc position and simply jump the qrst over to the efg". All that is for people who eat, sleep, and shit this stuff. I just want to put in the new version and won't be changing map settings as I won't be putting on the DP's (at least I know what that means) or RPI or Magna Flow exhaust.
Thanks!

Check out this thread....I've not done this upgrade myself as I bought when only the JB4 was available for my 335 - but it looks like the re-wiring can be done yourself. The most straight forward solution would be to buy the JB4 PNP harness.

PS: The search function has always been useless for me as well...

You what's funny, I JUST realized that the page had links for the rewiring!!!! I have looked at that page at least 10 times and never saw the four links to other pages. Unreal. Thank you very much for making look harder at the page. I actually have a short cut to it on my desktop. Now to see what its all about. How do you like the JB4 on your 535i?????? Do you find the extra features something you use alot? Have you dynoed the car before and after out of curiosity?

You want to use google for these types of searches. You can tell google exactly which site to search:
at google search box (www.google.com) search term: site:forums.5series.net jb4
TLAs don't work on these forum search tools but many of things we talk about are Three Letter Acronyms

I don't have any pics. My car looks pretty stock other than new wheels. All my upgrades are not visible.
