If you have the car already, how are you going to get the 6FL integration if it doesn't have it already?
Well, what I understood from the stories on the internet, 6FL is the name for the Ipod integration, which you can build in on the space of the CD-changer. But I guess I'm wrong? :-)

Having no idea what 6FL was I just did a search and found a 52 page thread with posts from JSpira.
I think basically 6FL is the factory fit so by nature you cant retrofit, but as far as I can tell replacing my CDC with the iPod retrofit basically gives me a similar thing.

Replying to the two above posts, 6FL is a factory only option for iPod/USB integration.
You can however add the iPod interface for the MOST bus , which attaches to the CD changer port.
While these two are similar, the MOST bus inteface has some limitations that the 6FL option does not (number of tracks that it will display, for example).
That having been said, for older cars, it is an EXCELLENT option since it does give you complete control of the iPod through the MFL and iDrive.

I'm guessing that, like me, your progman version will be around 18 for July 2005. It means that you probably cant play MP3 via your CD. If you get the ipod update you will get the latest version of Progman which should give you a few added benefits, as suggested in this document.
Cheers

Thanks for the explanation! So, for me it will be the MOSt iPod integration then :-).

If I'm correct, I've got the May 2005 sw version, but I do not know it exactly and I do not know how to get this info via the hidden menus either. So, I guess I have to walk by at the dealer and check with them what is new. IF they can tell me....
