I ran across this as well, from what I have seen, it's part of the cars sleep routine, and I also notice some stuff when you unlock the car as well...
I am just glad that there is no snoring when it parked!

It's normal for E60 and other models to make this sound. It's the combinations of onboard computer, navigation system, fuel system doing their things after the engine turn off. For your info. newer Benzes are the same. I also own 06' CLS500 that whistling with my 05' 545I in my gargage. Good day Gents!!!

Yes, I hear these sounds as well. After coming home today I walked out of the garage becuase I thought I heard a noise from the street, it was actually a buzzing noise coming from the under the rear of the car somewhere, it stopped after about two minutes. Must be normal, a lot of people seem to hear it.
