Hello everybody,

I have a 2005 BMW 525i E60...I am looking at doing an install of some coilovers with a few friends who know what they are doing however I am not too sure how I will get to the rear area to install the coilovers?

Do I need to remove the seats or is there an easy way?

Any pics or advice from more experienced members would be greatly appreciated!

thank you!

Just remove the rear trunk panels closer to the back seats on each side. It's a little tight but if you have an air ratchet, it will make things a lot easier to get the nuts off the struts so you aren't ratcheting in the little space.

I am not sure if amongst us we have an air ratchet...is this the easiest way?

Do you know of any other methods...do you have any pics of the removal of the rear trunk panels?

Thanks heaps for your help

I've been looking at just buying an air ratchet...will the 3/8" size be appropriate?

I used a 1/4" just because it's smaller in size. You can do it by hand, but you don't get much room to turn the ratchet. That's why I used an air ratchet.

Cool thanks mate, is there anyway you can explain exactly which rear panels I should remove?
