I have an '08 535xi and it does not have RFT's.

I'm thinking the same thing.. I can't see anywhere that these tires are run flats...

Where can I check this? I have an 08 535xi and it doesn't say anywhere (on the tire itself, owners manuals, web site) that the tires are run flats. I'm kinda new to this but shouldn't it say "Eagle RS-A EMT" or "run flat" somewhere?
It should say something, somewhere but RF tires are standard on all 5ers with the exceptions I noted earlier in this thread (M5 and 550i with Sportpaket). This info is also on the specifications page on the bmw Web site.

Good picture but I can?t read the small print on the sidewall (I did try).

There should be something in the small print it.

I checked on my tires also, and I didn't see where it said either way. But in my case, I specifically asked my CA if my RS-A's were RFT's and he said they definitely were NOT. I also found this page on the BMW website stating "* Cars with run-flat tires do not come equipped with a spare tire.". (My car has a spare tire.)
http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Content/Uni...RrrIyBVRF+4og==

My car came standard with non-RFT's even with the xi Sport Pkg(17" wheels).

Hope this helps.
The BMW NA Web site contradicts itself in several places and personally, I would go buy the specifications page for the 5er Series. It does indicate RF tires are standard across the series and that a spare tire is included (it?s not included in other markets however - it?s an option).

I have a 2008 xi and came with runflats (standard)
For '08, 535 & 535xi, conventional tires (17") are 'standard':

http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Content/BYO...7mi17Pmkb/17A==

18" RFT's are a stand alone 'option'.

I've looked at the option sheet that my dealer ran on my car and Sport Pkg and 18" wheels/RFT are each listed as separate "options". Sorry if my previous post led to any confusion about the RFT's being 'standard' .

This does not appear to be correct. I just picked up the 08 5 series accessories brochure and it states All 2007 and 2008 5 Series Sedans and Sports Wagons come equipped with run-flat tires as standard equipment. See page 15.

17" RF tires are standard. 18" RF tires are an option here.

Now that does make sense - do ya think they would have specified RF for the 17" ... as they do for the 18" optional size ?

Just an oversight.

When I wrote my article on RF tires a year or so ago, one of the things BMW said is that they were offering RF tires as the standard tire on virtually every BMW (again, exceptions such as M cars, 550i with Sportpaket, etc.) and they emphasized the 3er, 5er, and 6er so I?m not sure about the 7er but I am sure about the 5er.

Well, I don't know whats going on here, but I just got back from the Goodyear place near me and they said that these 17" Eagle RS-A's are NOT run flats.
