Rudy,
Here is a crash course on Roundabouts.
Anatomy of a basic roundabout and how it works.
Sequence of events...
1. As you approach, a big green direction sign points out major destinations. Make a mental note of your exit.
2. A black & white direction sign points out secondary destinations (generally local).
3. A triangular warning sign tells you you are bout to enter the jaws of a roundabout... slow down now!
4. White dashed lines (and maybe a painted triangle) tell you YOU MUST GIVE WAY.
5. Black & yellow chevrons emphasize the necessity to turn left.
6. Each exit is marked by destination signs: Green for major destinations; B&W for local destinations; blue & white or brown & white for local attractions (castles, gardens, public loos, etc.)
7. A confirmatory destination sign, with distance to go and other useful info follows every roundabout exit.
Now imagine two of these traffic patterns in a row that would give you a DOUBLE ROUNDABOUT. The double roundabout I most frequently encountered (and stalled)was along the A90 just outside of Dundee, Scotland.
Here is a graphic of how to navigate through a roundabout.

Okay, I'm officially dizzy now.
SFC, I know the basics of a roundabout but had never seen anything like the "Maybury" double that you were posting the picture of. What confused me was that they weren't complete circles and it looked like there was only one "spur" (Fourth Road Bridge).
As for all the other roundabout pictures, all I can say is "you guys are nuts!"

OMIGOD!!! I've driven in places with lots of roundabouts before - and never seen anything like the pics you guys posted....
Man, give me our good old 5 way intersections with STOP Signs only in a place like Miami, Florida where everyone ALWAYS follows the STOP signs and is courteous and gives way to the person that came before them - anyday...
Psst.. that was a sarcastic comment on drivers in Miami.... umm, they aren't courteous and they don't follow the rules - so the 4-5 way stop signs become a interesting game of multi car chicken!! Quite a nice spectator sport - wouldn't want to participate though ;-)

I re-read that paragraph 3 times thinking you were nuts -- then I read the next paragraph explaining your sarcasm.
Man I hate driving in Miami!
