I already have an OBDII scanner, what will the Bmr tool do besides tell me the tranny temp and battery registration?

I have one for piece of mind. You can read all codes including the BMW shadow codes. If your a DIY'r and have codes come up out of warranty and even with in warranty, at least you'll know if they are telling you the correct information. You can clear codes, if your a DIY'r reset all service settings and all sorts of other little things (easily). Reset I-drive, battery registration as you mention and just the nice to know things. I think its worth 270. I really had it for the 335 i had tuned for the just in case codes...came in handy...
