Hi All

I recently purchased a 520i 2003 - and according to the option list is does not have Dynamic Drive. But today when turning into my drive way the IDrive monitor displayed a Dynamic Drive error message saying the system was malfunctioning and that I should contact my dealer to get the system inspected. I turned off the car, and when starting up again the error message was gone. Also long pressing the BC to see if I had any errors did not reveal anything.

But now I'm pussled. Do I actually have this option or not? How can I check?

Thanks,
Thomas Petersen.

It should be very obvious when you go round a bend but this may be subjective.

These two topics have pictures of the underside of the car which show the dynamic drive bits. If you can find them then you have them, if not then you don't:

I'm not sure if there is an easier way to tell e.g. via iDrive. I'm sure other people will jump in to help.

Thanks for the help - I'll climb underneeth and see if I can find these parts. Seems to be pretty obvious if they are actually there.

Thanks,
Thomas.

Thomas, you could also ask your dealer for a printout of your installed options.

I actually got that printout when i bought the car. But it is not on the list - which is why I'm confused about the error message

Thanks,
Thomas.

are you sure it`s not warning you about a dynamic stability control failure, i had this problem and it needed to have the steering angle sensor reset

Now that you ask, I cant say for sure if it said Dynamic Stability Control - but I had a friend with me while it did it and he also saw it...

But yeah - DD in the 520i is a little weird. But it does have a lot of other options...

I'm located in Copenhagen Denmark BTW.

Thanks for your help.

/Thomas.
