Question Any Updated on the dread P0492

I wanted to know were there any updates on whether or not some actually fixed the dread P0492??? I like everyone here am having the same issue. Secondary Pump, works, tubes are crack free. Only thing I haven't done was change the check valve and do the carbon clean with that snake type brush.

Thanks in advance my fellow V8 owners!

Back in 2011 I replaced both check valves and Y-pipe. No problems with P0492 since then.

How many miles do you have on your car?

p0492 and no p0491 code means you would only have to change one check valve

so your saving some money there as apposed to having both codes and having to change both valves.

its uncomfertable to replace them . they are hidden behind the engine tight agains the firewall.

have it replaces. and you will be good to go.

careful not to break any hoses in the process creating a leak.

i would do it as soon as you can. as a bad check vavle can cause the secondary pump to fail over time. then your out another 300+ dollars.
